The Model

We Acquire the Inventory. We Build the Distribution.

We identify products with the potential to win, acquire selected inventory, take ownership of the commercial risk and build the digital distribution required to take them to customers.

The Operating Model

  1. 01 Supplier Manufacturers · Importers · Distributors · Brands
  2. 02 Acquire Selected inventory
  3. 03 Own Inventory risk
  4. 04 Distribute Digital retail
  5. 05 Customer End consumer

The Difference Is Who Owns the Risk.

Traditional ecommerce services operate around a supplier's existing business. We operate around inventory we have chosen to own.

  2. 02 Owns Inventory
  3. 03 Hires an Agency
  4. 04 Agency Manages the Store
  5. 05 Supplier Takes the Risk

We don't manage your ecommerce. We build our own retail business around selected products.

How the Model Works.

The model moves a product from supplier to customer in five steps. Ownership of inventory sits at the centre of it.

  1. 01

    Supplier

    It Starts With a Product.

Suppliers may already hold the hardest part: the product, manufacturing capability, sourcing capability, inventory and market knowledge. That is a real position to start from.

You do not need to become a digital retailer before approaching us. That part of the operation is ours to build.

  2. 02

    Acquire

    We Evaluate Before We Acquire.

Acquisition is a capital decision. Before we commit, we work through demand, competition, economics, inventory, logistics, risk, distribution and whether the product can be piloted.

We don't buy everything. We buy what can win.

    01

    Demand

    Evidence that customers want it.

    02

    Competition

A market we can enter and hold.

    03

    Economics

Unit economics that can support digital retail.

    04

    Inventory

Stock we can own and actually move.

    05

    Logistics

A supply chain that works at our scale.

    06

    Risk

Risk we can see, price and manage.

    07

    Distribution

A digital route to market worth building.

    08

    Pilot

A way to test the thesis before committing more capital.

  3. 03

    Own

Once We Acquire It, the Risk Is Ours.

After acquisition, the inventory is ours. That means we are exposed to inventory velocity, pricing, demand, customer acquisition, conversion, distribution, operational costs and sell-through.

Ownership does not automatically produce success. It means we have skin in the game — and it is why we select as carefully as we do.

  4. 04

    Distribute

Buying the Product Is Only Half the Job.

We build the route from product to customer. These are operating functions inside our own retail business, not a menu of agency services.

    1. 01 Position
    2. 02 Content
    3. 03 Demand
    4. 04 Convert
    5. 05 Distribute
    6. 06 Measure
    7. 07 Optimise

    Position

Define what the product means and who it is for.

    Content

Build the communication required to explain the product.

    Demand

    Create and capture customer demand.

    Convert

    Turn interest into transactions.

    Distribute

Build the digital route through which customers can buy.

    Measure

    Understand what is actually happening.

    Optimise

Feed learning back into positioning, distribution and product decisions.

  5. 05

    Customer

The Customer Is the Final Test.

The product thesis is ultimately tested by real customers. Their behaviour tells us whether demand exists, whether positioning works, whether pricing works, whether conversion works and whether distribution works.

The customer is not merely the end of the flow. Customer behaviour creates the information that feeds the next decision.

The Operating Loop

Learning Returns to the Model.

A successful product generates learning and capital that can support the next stage. That is the operating model — not a claim about results that have not been verified.

  1. 01 Acquire
  2. 02 Distribute
  3. 03 Sell
  4. 04 Learn
  5. 05 Optimise
  6. 06 Scale
  7. 07 Reinvest
  8. 08 Repeat

We Test Before We Scale.

We do not assume that every acquisition deserves unlimited capital. Initial evidence informs the next capital decision.

  1. 01 Acquire
  2. 02 Pilot
  3. 03 Measure
  4. 04 Learn
  5. 05 Scale

Not Every Product Becomes a Winner.

Some products may fail to demonstrate sufficient demand, workable economics, sustainable distribution or the customer response we need.

When that happens, the evidence decides what happens next — not sunk cost.

  1. 01 Measure What the data says
  2. 02 Learn Why it happened
  3. 03 Change · Stop · Liquidate · Move Capital Capital follows evidence

Capital follows evidence.

Winners Get More Distribution.

A product that demonstrates demand, healthy economics, strong customer response and repeatable distribution can receive additional inventory, content, demand generation, distribution and capital.

Who Does What.

The supplier keeps responsibility for the product and its supply. Viatrix takes responsibility for the digital retail operation around it.

You Don't Have to Build the Entire Digital Retail Operation.

For an Importer

Another route for inventory that already exists.

For a Manufacturer

Another route for products that deserve to reach customers differently.

For Viatrix

An opportunity to build a retail business around products worth owning.

This Is Not.

  • An ecommerce management retainer
  • A marketplace listing service
  • A marketing-only engagement
  • A product directory
  • A promise to buy everything

We don't get paid to manage the supplier's ecommerce business. We build our own retail business around selected products.

One Product Is an Opportunity. A Portfolio Is a Business.

The goal is not to accumulate SKUs. It is to build a portfolio of products and categories where distribution, customer knowledge and reinvestment compound over time.
